We work on authorial software and use automated technology which allows us to notice the equipment breakdown even before yourself. It happens that our customers find out that there is something wrong with their lift from the servicing engineer coming to their home or office.
Buildings have different sizes, characteristics and architecture. We are able to install a lift in every building type. With no further obligations we can assess the object regarding the possibilities for building the shaft which was originally not there. The size and shape of the staircase determines the shaft location.
We respect your peace of mind, time, and money
Our installation processes are designed in a way to reduce disruption in a normal operation in the building as much as possible. The project realisation does not usually exceed a dozen of weeks and during that time the building occupants can normally use their flats. Before the realisation starts, we consider the building characteristics and ascertain the schedule in a way which ensures the maximum safety for users and minimizes the burden of building works. Before passing the equipment to its users, we ascertain how comfortable the travel is, as well as carry out final security and functionality controls checks.
We always recommend to our customers the equipment with the lowest failure rate. Our priority is the users’ safety. However, minor breakdowns may happen even in the best of models. Due to us having our own warehouse with a variety of parts and an efficient servicing team, we are able to deal with most breakdowns in one day only, regardless of lift's brand and type.
Many lifts models we install have the advanced technological solutions which automatically inform us about breakdowns. It happens that our engineer is already on his way even before you have the chance to notice the problem. show phone / e-mailThrough floor lift travels through the aperture in the ceiling/floor in order to get to the upper/lower floor. When you are downstairs, the lift can be moved quietly and discreetly back upstairs, leaving the whole space free from obstruction. It has therefore a minimal impact on the home living area which makes it ideal for domestic use, even in homes in homes where there is not a huge amount of space. It is also quite easy to reinstall in another property if you move home.
The huge advantage of through floor lift is space saving and at the same time having a very modern and highly customisable look. What is more, through floor lifts need less structural alterations than lifts or platforms which makes them more affordable. At the same time they are more convenient than stairlifts as there is no need for the wheelchair user to be moved from the wheelchair into the chair.
It is recommended that the size of the lift should be around 1m wide x 1.5m long however there are also more space saving options available. The cost of the lift depends highly on specific features and customisation. The installation is quite quickly, taking usually around 2 days, as there is no need for a pit.
This kind of lift may be put in the middle between space saving of a through floor lift and the longevity of a traditional lift. Platform lift does include a shaft but it differs from the standard lift as only the platform and not the whole cabin travels up and down. Its main advantage when compared with the passenger lift is that it requires less structural changes and there are usually no constraints to get it installed in almost every home as only a pit of around 7.5cm is required.
If you would prefer the lift with a shaft, platform lift is recommended for homes with more limited space. It is also good solution for lower number of passengers (the maximum capacity is usually around 400 kg) and shorter distances, therefore it may be good choice for a private property. It is also cheaper than a proper passenger lifts but more expensive than a through floor lift.
The main difference between the standard lift and platform lift is that in the case of a lift, the whole cabin is going up, not only the platform. Just like with platform lifts, installation requires a shaft to be built as well as a winding mechanism. The lift is mostly recommended when it will be the main means of travelling between floors. It’s less likely to get it installed in a private house as it requires more space and severe structural changes.
Standard passenger lift is the largest construction from all of the above and it may not be even possible to get it installed in every building due to some constraints and requirements, as for example deep pit of around 1m. Structural changes also entail higher costs. On the other hand, it is most long-lived (it may last around 20 years), has a higher speed and capacity (usually over 350 kg) and more stops may be added than in the platform. All of those makes it a construction which adds a lot of value and modernity to the building and is a perfect choice for big houses.
Below you will find our recommendations for the specific manufacturers. Every lift recommended by us meets the European and UK safety regulations and standards. You get the product of the highest quality, comparable with public administration buildings. We do not recommend every lift our company is familiar with. Our recommendations are based on the product quality, easiness to use as well as the cost of usage and parts.
If you have any questions or doubts, you can seek our advice at any time. It’s free of charge. Just contact us in any way convenient for you (please see the Contact tab) and tell us what you expect – we would like you to make the best choice possible.
Indoor lifts
Outdoor lifts
Lifts for disabled people are an excellent solution when there is a need to travel between different levels but at the same time there are budget and building limitations. They are mostly installed in buildings adjusted for wheelchair users, as well as new-built ones. Wheelchair lifts are a great alternative for passenger platform lifts where there is a need for unlimited mobility for seniors and people being unable to travel up and down the stairs.
Wheelchair lifts mostly do not require any pit nor any additional machine room. The usage is safe and easy, and there is no training required to use them. They are functional, damage-resilient, and durable platforms which can easily serve as lifts. They meet the safety standards and have all necessary certificates.
A stairlift is the best gift for people with limited mobility. As the time passes by, the human body does not work as well as it used to. Activities which seemed easy some time ago are getting more and more difficult. Due to these difficulties, many seniors are unable to independently get out of their house or flat. Installation of a stairlift may be a solution.
A stairlift is a lifting chair designed to enable travelling up and down the stairs. It may be navigated by the remote or the switch on the device – most commonly under the user’s elbow. As there is a huge variety of stairlifts, they may be installed in almost every staircase, both straight and curved, as well as outside the building.
The user sits on the chair, presses the button, and goes up or down. The speed is controlled by you. On the way you turn and here you are – on the first floor. The stairlift track may be at any shape, curve and angle which means we can install it even in difficult staircases, with a limited space for the parking. We allow stairlift’s customisation therefore you can choose colour and upholstery material so your stairlift would fit perfectly to the surroundings. Every stairlift installed by us has a quality warranty.
The stairlift motion is smooth, with no bumps and tremors. The chair has safety seatbelts and sensors which take care of your safety. The track the stairlift moves on is assembled onto the steps on the left or right. When the stairlift is not used, it may be folded so it does not disturb other users of stairs.
Goods lifts are devices which enable quick and easy transport of products between floors. Our warehouses contain thousands of different devices therefore we provide lifts suitable for your industry as well as specification of the load – gastronomic lifts for carrying meals, lifts for forklift trucks and pallets or small lifts for documents.
The easy construction enables to modify the lift in terms of its measures and architectonic conditions of the building.
Our engineers have installed lifts for plates as well as lifts for passenger cars. The usage of the lift is safe and easy. All doors, gates and half-pipes are secured by an electromechanical lock system. An easy access while loading in and out makes the lift very difficult to damage. Installation with no building work? Seems impossible? It is possible in Atlas Goods Lifts. The lift works with a shaft pit as well as without it and there is no need for any machine room. The lift may be easily installed between the existing ceiling and floor.
Models recommended by our engineers are most advanced technologically. Almost all lifts are digitally controlled through the central computer unit which allows programming the cabin’s stops with millimetres accuracy. It also allows to configure the stops arrangement (?) in case of for example few lifts working in the same building (by dividing them for even and odd ones or up to the middle high of the building and above). It allows us to reduce the travel time leading to decreasing costs. Lifts are equipped with a centrifugal safety brake.
We help with efficient and optimal transport of people and goods. Atlas Business Lifts Team uses automation, IT, electronics, machine learning and artificial intelligence. All of that allows us to provide smart and safe solutions, suitable for developing businesses. We have experience in installation and servicing of lifts in demanding conditions, such as oil rigs. At the same time there are many customers in our portfolio who, beside safety, cared for cabin and shaft elegance most. We keep developing our authorial software, which allows the real time monitoring of components. Most breakdowns are managed by us in one day. We work 24/7. Our emergency team is always available to you. We ensure peace and safety so you can allocate your time for developing your business instead.
We are experienced in lifts integration with access systems. Our engineers deal with most uncommon situations. In the last 20 years we installed over 2000 commercial lifts.
All of them are constantly monitored, serviced, and repaired if there is a breakdown. We provide services mostly in Great Britain, but our lifts have been installed in Nigeria, and Gabon as well. show phone / e-mailIn our daily tasks we use the authorial software, created, and constantly improved by Atlas internal IT department. Every day we use the latest hi-tech solutions in order to make sure the services and products we offer provide the best possible experience.
Our competitors buy ready software, applications, and equipment. Atlas Lifts and Services values quality with no compromises, that is why we decided to launch our own IT department. Software we create for our own and, of course, our customers’ needs, uses, among others, artificial intelligence, machine learning, Big Data, automation, automated technology and robotics. There is a specialist in User Experience, Service Design in our IT team who makes applications and programs intuitive, user-friendly and useful.
It was a long time ago when we said goodbye to huge warehouses full of documents, folders and equipment bought in the eighties. Our target is modernity, as well as convenient, useful, intuitive solutions. We prepared fully digital servicing processes, technical condition control systems and auditing processes. We have models which automatically inform Atlas Servicing Centre about abnormal operation of any lift component. We value feedback from our customers and keep updating our software in order to suit our needs.
We accomplished 96% of our projects in accordance with the prearranged schedule and budget. We installed thousands of lifts in buildings where there have never been any. Our team takes challenges – we keep cooperating with the drilling industry as well as the oil and gas industry providing solutions relating to lifting goods and people. Our offer is comprehensive – we operate in three segments: for businesses and industry, for private people and companies as well as people with limited mobility and seniors.
Atlas Lifts and Services is based in Aberdeen, in North East Scotland. We have been trading since 2002. During these years we became one of Scotland’s leading installers of commercial, industrial and domestic lifts, stairlifts and hoists working across the north east, Orkney and the Shetland Isles, as well as offshore. Our services include:
An effort we put into continuous improvement is paid back in growing number of satisfied customers and service contracts. For many years we have maintained contracts with local authorities in our region and beyond it. We also enjoy a good reputation among private customers which has been monitored through feedback forms. We officially cooperate with biggest European lift manufacturers who recommend us for installations of their products.
Our lift engineers are fully qualified and taught by the most senior members of our team who have been in the industry for over 10 years. All engineers are given professional trainings and refreshers at least on a yearly basis (?), carried out by equipment manufacturers, who are familiar with their own products and therefore can, in our opinion, provide the most professional advice. We support ambition, development and professional attitude as we believe those qualities allow us to provide the best possible service to our customers.
Atlas Lifts goes with the times and uses the most recent technological developments in the field of IT. Maximus, the system which contains a data base of our customers and equipment, has been created especially for Atlas’ needs and is constantly improved to serve both our admin team, as well as our clients who may be provided with clear and factual information. On the other hand, as a relatively small company, we do not base everything on a system only and can approach each customer individually.
Atlas Lifts is also a member of most appreciated professional bodies in the industry, such as Lift and Escalator Industry Association (which require all members to have up to date policies regarding safety, standards and legislative matters), British Healthcare Trades Association (which imposes a high standard of customer service), Select, Constructionline and Alcumus Safe Contractor. We are proud of being successfully audited and met the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 which indicates having integrated management system in place, strong health and safety policy as well as method statements of the work.
Based in Aberdeen we offer homeowners, businesses and local authorities across North East Scotland the very best in lift consultation, supply, installation and servicing. With nearly 20 years of experience in the lift supply and installation industry, we offer a comprehensive range of services and solutions for lifting applications in private and industrial services. Atlas has enjoyed strong expansion and continual quality and today we offer one of Scotland’s most expert and comprehensive services, investing in levels of assessment, expertise and 24 hour service response far in advance of our competitors that has won us work as far afield as Nigeria and Gabon.
Our assessment engineers configure products to each unique requirement with added or reduced supports, stand and lean or sit down alternatives. Commercial clients, local authorities and architects also gain the benefit of this level of expertise with detailed consultation and advice on making buildings not only accessible to all but also highly practical when it comes to lifting large groups of passengers or moving around goods whether you need industrial scissor lifts or a simple dumb waiter.
